Refunds & Returns Policy
 
1. The Mystery Box Guarantee
At The Mystery Vinyl Co., we take pride in the curation and quality of every pack. Our products include a mystery element and predominantly vintage / pre-owned vinyl, so our policy is designed to be fair to both the collector and the curator, while fully respecting your statutory consumer rights.
 
2. Returns & “Change of Mind”
In accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery.
Conditions

  • The Mystery Box must be returned in its entirety. Individual records or items from a box cannot be returned separately.

  • Any merchandise (T-shirts, totes, caps, etc.) must be unworn, unused, and in original packaging.

Exclusions

  • Returns cannot be accepted based on personal musical taste, discovery preferences, or receiving an album you already own. The mystery and discovery element is the service provided.

  • This does not affect your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods.

Return Shipping

  • For “change of mind” returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

  • We strongly recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot refund items lost or damaged in transit back to us.
     

3. Condition & Grading Standards
Most of our records are pre-owned. All vinyl is graded using the Goldmine Standard.

  • Every record is professionally cleaned and play-tested to ensure it is VG (Very Good) or better.

  • Sleeves: As vintage items, sleeves may show signs of age (light wear, minor creasing). This is part of the character of vintage vinyl and is not considered a defect.

  • Exceptions: In rare cases, a highly collectable pressing may include a lower-graded sleeve where the vinyl itself is of high quality.
     

4. Faulty or Damaged Items
If a record arrives in a condition significantly different from its stated grade (e.g. skipping, major warp, or transit damage), we will make it right.
Our process

  • We will offer a replacement for the specific faulty record or a partial refund relating to that item.

  • We may request a short video demonstrating the issue to assist with quality control.

  • Where a fault is verified, we will cover replacement or return shipping costs.
     

5. “Golden Ticket” & Special Insertions
Occasionally, a high-value or historically significant record (“Golden Ticket”) is randomly inserted into a box as a promotional bonus.

  • These items are not guaranteed and are included at our discretion.

  • They are promotional gifts and are not exchangeable or replaceable.

  • In the unlikely event that a Golden Ticket item is lost or damaged in transit, a high-tier replacement record from current stock may be offered at our discretion.
