Every month, we hide something special inside one of our packs as you all know. A record that goes beyond the usual lineup, something a serious collector would actually hunt down for years. This month, we've gone for the 90's and outdone ourselves. Somewhere in one of June's packs sits a genuine UK 1
st pressing of Oasis's Be Here Now, on Creation Records (CRELP 219), 1997. Not a reissue. Not a repress decades later. The real thing, at the absolute peak of Britpop, the way it sounded the day it landed on record shop shelves and changed everything.
A Record That Defined a Moment
Be Here Now wasn't just another album release, it was an event. By 1997, Oasis were the biggest band in Britain, fresh off the era-defining (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and anticipation for the follow-up had reached fever pitch. Queues formed outside record shops. It became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history at the time. The record carried four singles, including the chart-topping "D'You Know What I Mean?" and "All Around the World", alongside the now-iconic "Stand By Me", tracks that still get a singalong whenever they come on. Whatever you think of the record three decades on, there's no arguing with what it represented in that moment, the absolute peak of Britpop's commercial and cultural dominance.
Why This Pressing Matters
There are two versions of Be Here Now floating around from 1997: the UK original on Creation Records, and a European pressing on Helter Skelter. Among collectors, the Creation pressing is the one that matters, Oasis were signed to Creation in the UK, making this the true first pressing, not the secondary European release.
What's Actually Inside
This is a genuinely exceptional copy. Both original printed inner sleeves are intact, photos, lyrics, full credits, the works, and it's graded EX+. This is the kind of condition collectors wait years to find, sitting inside one customer's pack this month.
Could It Be You?
We don't tell you which pack it's hiding in, and we don't tell you when it'll turn up. That's the entire thrill of it. Every Collectors Cut, Arena and Studio pack purchased this month carries a genuine shot at landing one of the most sought-after Oasis pressings in existence, sitting inside, waiting to be discovered.
This is exactly the kind of thing that makes a mystery pack worth opening, not knowing whether today's the day you pull something genuinely special out of the sleeve. Most months bring a great mix of records curated to your taste. This month, as always, one lucky customer gets something a little bit more.
