FAQ

What's the difference between the mystery box tiers?

All three boxes contain four vinyl records, but the curation and included extras vary by price point. The Backstage Pass (£29) mixes classic albums with easy-listening favourites, ideal for building a collection affordably. The Headliner (£39) focuses on well-known artists and essential albums that every collector should own. The Collectors Cut (£49) leans into deep cuts, rarities and cult classics for those chasing something more unexpected.

What condition are the records in?

Most records are pre-owned and graded VG+ or better, with every LP cleaned and checked before dispatch to ensure good playback. Sleeves can sometimes show a bit more wear than the vinyl itself, particularly on rarer or more collectible pressings. If a record ever arrives below the expected condition or doesn't play properly, it will be replaced or refunded.

Can I choose which records I get?

No — that's the fun of it. Each box is a genuine surprise, hand-picked by the curators from a mix of vintage and modern collections. You can, however, mention your favourite genres or artists when ordering, and the team will factor this into your selection.

How is delivery handled?

Orders are shipped free of charge via Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked, so every parcel comes with tracking as standard. Once your box is dispatched, it should arrive safely and ready to play, packaged with the unboxing experience in mind.

The Mystery Vinyl Boxes

It all starts with the ritual

In a world dominated by algorithms and digital playlists, we missed the ritual of vinyl. The weight of the sleeve, the artwork you can get lost in, and that first needle drop that changes the room. For us, music feels more meaningful when it has history.

Curated from real collections

We don’t work with bulk wholesale pallets. Every record in our mystery boxes is hand-selected from a private archive of thousands of vintage pressings and carefully chosen new releases. Our collection has been built over decades of digging, listening, and collecting.

Real records. Real history.

We believe a mystery box should be a discovery, not a gamble. That’s why we source from specialist vinyl auctions and exclusive private collections, focusing on well-preserved archives and rare pressings. Every box is VG or better, balanced, and curated by collectors who understand what makes a record worth owning.

A mixed box so to speak. The main two vinyls from Floyd and Young were both good. Great condition and good albums. The other two are not quite for me but can't deny they match the artists Mentioned in the notes. Dylan doing covers isn't my bag unfortunately. Just missing a little something. Would prefer an LP to two singles and can see they have now made that change which is great.. Can't fault the presentation and condition of goods. I look forward to the next installment.

Hi,
Thank you for the feedback. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the Pink Floyd and Neil Young records and were happy with the condition and presentation. We’re also pleased to say we’ve now updated our subscriptions so that all subscribers from the Headliner and above now receive five full-length LPs rather than four LPs and two singles, with an additional Heritage LP replacing the singles. Thanks again for the feedback, and we’re delighted to have you back as a subscriber!

Wasn’t too sure about a couple of my records as they weren’t my usual listening but the joy of a curated selection is after a couple of listens they are awesome - you were on the money! Brilliant selection and excellent condition. Very happy and already ordering another package.

What did I get this month? Well packaged as usual, to start Dog Of Two Head by Status Quo, great album, finally ditching all vestiges of psychedelia. Francis Rossi presumably really really liked Nanana. Next a signed copy of Reel To Real by Marillion. A good live album but I'm not sure how live it actually is, it's very polished. Then a new copy of Led Zeppelin's debut. Nothing new to say here. And finally Born Again by Black Sabbath. This gets a fair bit of grief despite being a top 5 album when it was released. It's not amazing but better than it's reputation suggests. Oh, and a couple of singles, Take On Me by Aha, it's a good pop song but I wasn't a fan back in the day and the video was doing a lot of the heavy lifting. And Let's Work by Mick Jagger, written by Dave Stewart and sounding exactly like the Eurythmics outtake it probably is. Never heard it at the time and it's instantly forgettable. All in all a good box.
